Forecast heavy rain and snow means speed restrictions will be imposed on some ScotRail routes tomorrow, Saturday 23 December.

Trains may be cancelled or subject to delays of up to 30 minutes.

The following routes will be affected:

• Inverness - Wick: delays of up to 30 minutes
• Inverness - Tain / Ardgay / Lairg: delays of up to 30 minutes
• Inverness - Kyle: delays of up to 30 minutes
• Inverness - Elgin: services suspended
• Aberdeen - Inverurie: delays of up to 30 minutes
• Montrose - Inverurie delays of up to 30 minutes
• Glasgow Queen Street - Inverness: delays of up to 30 minutes
• Edinburgh - Inverness: delays of up to 30 minutes
• Glasgow Queen Street - Oban / Mallaig: delays of up to 30 minutes (buses will run between Glasgow Queen Street - Oban / Fort William: and between Fort William and Mallaig)

Ticket acceptance:

You can use your ticket on the following Stagecoach North bus routes at no additional cost:

• 10: Inverness - Nairn - Forres - Elgin - Keith - Huntly - Inverurie - Dyce - Aberdeen
• 10B: Inverness - Nairn - Forres - Elgin - Keith - Huntly - Inverurie - Dyce - Aberdeen
• 31: Elgin - Forres
• 35: Elgin - Dyce - Aberdeen

In reaction to heavy rainfall and snowfall expected on Saturday 23 December, Network Rail have advised that speed restrictions will be in place from 09:00.

Because of these speed restrictions, ScotRail services across a number of routes are expected to be delayed with some also being cancelled.

Customers are strongly advised to check their journey before leaving for the station and also make sure they can complete their entire journey.

Should you wish to postpone travelling, tickets dated Saturday 23 December will be accepted for travel on Sunday 24 December.
