Read our comprehensive guide below to find out everything that you need to know about Bradford Interchange train station. We’ve outlined information on the main station facilities, opening times, how to book your tickets and more.

Where is Bradford Interchange station?

Bradford Interchange railway station is conveniently located for city commuters and weekend visitors alike. You’ll find the entrance to the station along Bridge Street, right next to Bradford Coach Station.

After just a short walk, you’ll be in the heart of the city centre. Whether you’re heading to the National Science and Media Museum or the picturesque City Park, the best attractions in Bradford are just a stone’s throw away from this useful Bradford station.

Bradford Interchange station is not to be confused with Bradford Forster Square railway station, which is located half a mile away. The two railway stations were developed in the 19th century by separate companies, each with different plans for the railway network.

Both of the main Bradford train stations connect the city to destinations across the UK but Bradford Interchange is most convenient for services to Leeds, York, Manchester and other major towns and cities to the south.

How do I buy tickets at Bradford station?

There’s a ticket office and a ticket collection machine available for you to use at Bradford Interchange, so buying and collecting tickets when you arrive at the station should be straightforward. However, if you’re looking for the best deals on train tickets, you’re more likely to get a lower price for your Bradford trains if you book in advance.

You can choose from three main types of tickets, and the overall value of your journey will be determined by your chosen date and time of travel. While you’re using our journey planner, you might notice that these ticket types are Anytime, Advance and Off-Peak.

If you’re planning your trip on a budget, booking an Advance ticket to Bradford Interchange might be the most sensible option. You’ll find the lowest prices on these tickets online but make sure that you check at least a week before you travel – as lower-priced tickets often sell out quickly.

Anytime tickets offer more flexibility, allowing you to freely choose between services running on your selected day of travel. If you’d like to avoid rush hour, meanwhile, opting for an Off-Peak ticket could be a good idea.

There are still plenty of ways to save money when you book your Bradford train tickets with Grand Central. Our Multi-buy and Group Travel discounts are available on Bradford Interchange services, helping you to save a little bit more spending money.
