Sunderland Souter Lighthouse

The northern port-city of Sunderland and the surrounding areas have much to offer those who visit, from a rich industrial history to dramatic coastlines, it even has its own castle to visit! Did you know that it was once known for being the world’s largest shipbuilding town?

Close to Sunderland station is an eclectic mix of things to see and do, with cafes and eateries such as Biz-R which can be reached within 4-minutes on foot.

History and culture options are also catered for: take a brisk 3-minutes’ walk and you’ll stumble upon the Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens which house art exhibits, a rich history of the city of Sunderland and its people, as well as the wonderful Winter Gardens. Oh, and don’t forget the infamous Wallace the Lion too!

Shopaholics will love Jacky White’s Market, a traditional indoor market just 3-minutes away from the station, brimming with plenty of treasures to suit all tastes.
