Due to severe weather numerous routes across the Southern, Thameslink routes are subject to cancellations and delays.
Currently the following incidents are affecting services;
Lightning damaging the signalling system Dorking - Epsom
Heavy rain flooding the railway Clapham Junction - Milton Keynes
Flooding in a tunnel between St Pancras International and West Hampstead Thameslink
Flooding between London Bridge and South Bermondsey
The route i'm wanting to take is disrupted can I travel on another route?
Yes you can. You can use your ticket on any of the following at no extra cost.
Southern on any route
Thameslink on any route
Great Northern services on any route
London North Western between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central
South Western on any route (There is currently disruption on the route via Epsom due to the Lightning strike)
Southeastern between London & Rainham and London Victoria & Sevenoaks
London Underground services on any line
TFL bus services between Sutton & Epsom and across London
What incidents are affecting the service?
Epsom to Dorking
A lightning strike in the Epsom are has caused damage to the track. Network rail response staff are on site fixing the issue but we have no ETA for completion.
Replacement buses are on route to Dorking and Epsom to set up a shuttle bus service between the stations takin around 30 minutes. We recomend that you delay your travel on this route until later.
Clapham Junction to Milton Keynes
Heavy Flooding in the Imperial Wharf area has shut the Southern line betwee Clapham Junctiona and Milton Keynes. Flood water is now decreasing and Network Rail response staff are now checking the line to see if it is a level to run trains. If your travelling on this route you will need travel via an alternative route. Your Southern ticket for this route will be valid at no extra cost on:
Alternative Southern services between Clapham Junction and London Victoria:
You can use these trains to connect with London Underground services from Victoria, even if your ticket is marked "via Kensington Olympia"
London Underground services to travel across London on any reasonable route:
This includes:
- the Victoria Line, to connect between Victoria and Euston, for London Northwestern Railway services
- the District Line, to and from West Brompton
- the Central Line, to and from Shepherds Bush
- the Bakerloo Line, to and from Harrow & Wealdstone via Wembley Central
London Overground services on any reasonable route:
This includes:
- the West London Line between Clapham Junction, Imperial Wharf, West Brompton, Kensington Olympia, Shepherds Bush and Willesden Junction
- services between Willesden Junction, Wembley Central, Harrow & Wealdstone and Watford Junction
London Northwestern Railway services:
You can use these trains to travel between London Euston and stations to Milton Keynes Central, and you can also use the limited train service between Bletchley and Bedford
London Bridge to South Bermondsey
Flooding has caused damage to a set of points in the South Bermondsey area. Staff are on-site fixing the issue but while ongoing a reduced service is in place.
-If you are travelling towards Crystal Palace please travel to New Cross gate on alternative service changing there for London Overground services Crystal Palace
-If you are travelling to or from Beckenham Juction or Birkbeck please travel on Croydon Tramlink services to East Croydon changing there for services to London Bridge.
St Pancras to West Hampstead Thameslink
A reduced service will be put in until flood water decreases.
-Bedford to Gatwick Airport via Redhill will be withdrawn.
-Sutton to St Albans City services are being withdrawn.

Flood water in an area called the Belsize Tunnels between Kentish Town and West Hamptsead has shut two of the four lines. This is also causinng delays to the remaining two open lives.
