The Easter bank holiday weekend is traditionally the time when a considerable amount of improvement and engineering work is undertaken on Britain's rail network.

Passengers are reminded to continue to follow Government advice and only use public transport for essential journeys　over Easter, as Network Rail carries out a reduced　and controlled　programme of engineering work to maintain and upgrade the railway.　

The following major engineering works will be undertaken during this time:

• Amended service to or from London Euston from Friday 10 to Monday 13 April.

• No trains between Wigan North Western / Buckshaw Parkway and Preston from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 April.

• Amended trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central via Motherwell from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 April.

• No trains between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh via Lockerbie from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 April.

• No trains to or from London Fenchurch Street from Friday 10 to Monday 13 April.

• Amended trains in the Guildford area from Friday 10 to Sunday 19 April.

• No trains at Wolverhampton from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 April.
