Lines have now reopened following heavy rain flooding the railway between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western. However, whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Please board the next available TransPennine Express or Northern service from Liverpool Lime Street towards Manchester Oxford Road and change there for a further TransPennine Express or Northern service towards Preston.

At Preston, change for the next available TransPennine Express or Avanti West Coast service towards the following stations:

• Lancaster
• Oxenholme
• Penrith
• Carlisle
• Lockerbie
• Glasgow Central
