Industrial action is taking place on several dates in December 2022 and January 2023, affecting TransPennine Express services. 48 hour strikes will take place on the dates below:

• Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 December 2022
• Friday 16 and Saturday 17 December 2022
• Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 January 2023
• Friday 6 and Saturday 7 January 2023

Additionally, there has been further strike action announced over the Christmas period which will take place from 18:00 on Saturday 24 December until 06:00 on Tuesday 27 December 2022. 

Customer advice:

On strike days, a very limited service is expected to run. The train service is likely to start later than normal and finisher earlier. Customers are advised to only travel if their journey is absolutely necessary.

On the day after each strike, a reduced timetable is likely to be in operation with trains starting later than usual in the morning.

The National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner is not yet showing the strike day services for the national industrial action dates. Timetables are expected to be showing the correct strike day service levels by the following dates:

• For travel from 12 to 16 December, the Journey Planner will be correct on 9 December
• For travel on 17 December, the Journey Planner will be correct on 13 December
• For travel on 18 December, the Journey Planner will be correct on 14 December
