The ASLEF union has announced that strike action will be taken by its members on Tuesday 30 January. No Southern, Gatwick Express, Thameslink or Great Northern services will be running on this day, with the exception of very limited shuttle services between the following:

  • Gatwick Airport and London Victoria only
  • London St Pancras International, Luton Airport Parkway and Luton only
  • London Kings Cross and Cambridge only

In addition, there will be a nationwide ban on overtime from Monday 29 January until Tuesday 6 February (inclusive). An amended timetable will be in place, with fewer services overall across the network. Gatwick Express services will not be running between Monday 29 January and Friday 2 February, or on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 February. A normal Gatwick Express service will operate on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 February.  Full details and service summaries for each day can be found on the Industrial Action page.

Journey planners are expected to be updated as follows:

  • Tuesday 30 January (strike action) please check back after Monday 22 January
  • Monday 29 and Wednesday 31 January, Thursday 1 and Friday 2 February, please check back after Monday 22 January
  • Monday 5 February and Tuesday 6 February, please check back after Sunday 28 January
