A lack of available traincrew at key locations across the network, following a recent spike in short term sickness, and planned engineering works on some routes means WMR/LNWR are unfortunately expecting disruption to train services on both Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June.

We advise customers to check their own journey on the morning of travel to see if your services are affected.

Which services will be affected?

It is unfortunately likely that train services will be disrupted on the whole WMT/LNWR network with services on the following routes being significantly impacted with multiple cancellations expected:

  • Crewe - London Euston
  • Worcester - Leamington Spa
  • Birmingham New Street - Shrewsbury

Additionally on Sunday 30 June, planned engineering will also affect services between Birmingham International and Rugeley Trent Valley / Rugby .

Alternative Travel Advice

Rail replacement buses have been ordered to supplement the train service, however rail replacement bus capacity will be limited and journey times significantly extended compared to if a full train service was able to operate.

Additionally WMR/LNWR will accept tickets dated for travel this weekend on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 July.
