A speed restriction over a defective track at means some lines are disrupted. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised. This is expected until 19:00.
Greater Anglia Customer Advice:
During a routine check of the track overnight, Network Rail engineers found a crack in a rail at Ilford. In order to make sure that trains can still run safely over this area of track, a severe speed restriction has been placed in the area. The speed restriction is likely to lead to congestion and delays. To try and relieve this congestion, Greater Anglia are altering and cancelling some services that run through Ilford today.
Network Rail engineers are on site and working on the crack in the rail.
Greater Anglia tickets are being accepted on Elizabeth Line services between Shenfield and London Liverpool Street and on C2C services between London Fenchurch Street and Southend Central until further notice.
