The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street. Whilst they carry out their work all lines between these stations will be closed.

Trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes, revised or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 15:00.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

Some services may be diverted on alternative lines between Wolverhampton and Birmingham, running via Bescot Stadium. Services that are diverted will not call at Sandwell & Dudley.

If your train is cancelled, your ticket is valid on one of the two Avanti West Coast services immediately before your booked train, or one of the two immediately after.

CrossCountry customer advice:

You can use your ticket on the following services at no extra cost:

  • West Midlands Railway via any reasonable route
  • West Midlands Metro between Wolverhampton and Birmingham

West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway customer advice:

You can use your ticket on the following services at no extra cost:

  • CrossCountry via any reasonable route
  • West Midlands Railway between Smethwick Galton Bridge and Birmingham Moor Street / Birmingham Snow Hill (Smethwick Rolfe Street is a short distance from Smethwick Galton Bridge)
  • West Midlands Metro between Wolverhampton and Birmingham
  • National Express West Midlands via any reasonable route
