A points failure between Stockport and Chester is causing disruption to journeys between these stations.

Services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

We anticipate disruption will continue until 10:30.

Alternative travel suggestions.

Ticket acceptance is in place with Metrolink between Manchester Piccadilly and Altrincham in both directions.

Ticket acceptance is in place with Transport for Wales between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester via any route until 12:00.

Customers travelling to Chester can board alternative Northern services from Manchester Victoria.

Ticket restrictions have been lifted to allow Northern ticket holders to travel on alternative services today.

09:10 - Calling all stations to Chester. 4 Coaches operated by Daves Handy Rider, Atlantic Travel & Bestway.

 

Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycle’s, e-bikes and dogs (exc service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.

Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.
