A fault with the signalling system between Ramsgate and Canterbury West is causing disruption to journeys between these stations. As a result of this, trains may be delayed by up to 20 minutes or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 11:00.

What's Happened?

Yesterday evening, a signalling problem occurred at Sturry, causing delays to trains between Canterbury West & Ramsgate. The fault was caused by signalling cable being stolen, and replacement cables need to be installed in their place.

Engineers from Network Rail were unable to complete this overnight and are currently working at installing the replacement signalling cables.

How does this affect my journey?

High Speed services between Margate, Ramsgate and St Pancras via Canterbury West will be delayed by up to 20 minutes and will stop additionally at Minster and Sturry.

Trains Between Ramsgate and Charing Cross via Canterbury West will be diverted to run via Dover.

Some other services may still be altered at short notice.

What do I need to do?

Please check your journey using the journey planner and allow extra time for travelling between Ramsgate, Canterbury West & Ashford this morning.

If you are travelling between stations on the Canterbury West line and stations towards Paddock Wood, Tonbridge Sevenoaks & Charing Cross you will need to change trains at Ashford.
