A fault with the signalling system at Guide Bridge means that all lines are blocked. Services between Manchester Piccadilly and Guide Bridge / Stalybridge may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 22:00.

Northern customer advice:

Network Rail are aware of the fault and engineers are due on site at 21:10.

The following routes will be impacted by this disruption;

Manchester Piccadilly - Hadfield services are currently unable to run in both directions.

Manchester Piccadilly - Rose Hill Marple services can run to Rose Hill Marple, however will divert via Bredbury towards Manchester Piccadilly.

TransPennine Express will divert Manchester Piccadilly and York (and vice versa) services via Manchester Victoria and Ashton-under-Lyne, where possible, which will add additional time to your journey.

You can use your ticket, at no extra cost, on the following alternative operators in both directions until further notice:

  • Northern services between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge
  • Metrolink tram services between Manchester Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly
  • TransPennine Express services between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge
