A points failure at Salford Crescent means that some lines are blocked. Services between Manchester and Wigan Wallgate / Bolton may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 17:15.

Trains are currently unable to run between Salford Crescent - Manchester Oxford Road in this direction only.

TransPennine Express customer advice:

You can use your tickets at no extra cost on the following services:

  • Alternative TransPennine Express services between Manchester Oxford Road and Preston
  • Northern services between Manchester Oxford road and Preston

To help you complete your journey, rail replacement transport has been requested to run between Manchester Piccadilly and Preston, calling at Bolton.
