A road accident has occured near the Railway in the Eccles area. As a result, trains between Manchester and Newton-le-Willows are currently disrupted.

Disruption is expected to continue until at least 10:00.

Advice for TransPennine Express customers:

If your TransPennine Express service is cancelled, please board the next running TransPennine Express service. Alternatively, you may use your ticket on Northern trains between Manchester stations and Liverpool Lime Street via Birchwood or Wigan.
