A safety inspection of the track between London Paddington and Reading means some lines are blocked. As a result, some services will be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 09:00.
Customer advice:
Great Western Railway
To ease congestion, some services between London Paddington and Didcot Parkway and between London Paddington and Newbury will be revised and not run between London Paddington and Reading.
If you are travelling to or from Slough, Maidenhead or Twyford will need to use Elizabeth line services instead. Your tickets will be accepted on these services at no extra cost.
Heathrow Express
A reduced half-hourly service is operating between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport.
Additional information:
Following a safety inspection of the track in the London Paddington area, Network Rail engineers have discovered a section of defective track. For safety reasons, this section of track has had to be blocked to trains until the necessary repairs can be completed. This has reduced the number of lines available for use in the London Paddington area.
