Police dealing with an incident near the railway between Hastings and Ashford International means some lines are blocked. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled or revised to start / terminate at Hastings.
 

Stations between Three Oaks and Ashford International will not be served.

Disruption is expected until 15:15.
 

Customer Advice

Unfortunately, there will be further disruption to Southern services between Hastings and Ashford International today.

The police have advised us that more time is necessary to complete their work near the railway.

Buses will replace a number of trains on this route. As a result, we expect your journey will take at least 30 - 45 minutes longer than usual.

Please check a journey planner for the affected trains & detailed timings of replacement buses.

At present, we expect trains will return to normal from around 15:15, but please check back here for any further updates.

Alternative journey options and ticket acceptance:

The following buses will operate:

  • 10:30 Hastings to Ashford International
  • 11:25 Ashford International to Hastings
  • 11:27 Hastings to Ashford International
  • 12:25 Ashford International to Hastings
  • 12:27 Hastings to Ashford International
  • 13:25 Ashford International to Hastings
  • 13:40 Hastings to Ashford International
  • 14:25 Ashford International to Hastings

 

The bus supplier will be Travelmasters.

Please note that any replacement buses for Three Oaks will serve the Southern replacement bus stops on the A259 at Guestling Thorn. This is not shown on station posters.

Buses for Winchelsea will pick up / drop off at the Southern replacement bus stops in the centre of the village, rather than near the station.

If you are travelling between the Hastings and Ashford areas, you can travel on Southeastern services between Hastings, St Leonards Warrior Square and Tonbridge, and then change trains for their services between Tonbridge and Ashford International.

However, this will take around an hour longer than usual.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

A police investigation was being carried out near the railway between Ore and Winchelsea yesterday. Due to the complexity of the operation, more time is needed by the officers on site. Part of this investigation cannot be done with trains running past the area.
