A safety inspection of the track between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon means some lines are currently closed. As a result, trains may be delayed or revised to run non stop between Horley and Redhill.
Disruption is expected until 08:30.
Customer advice:
A safety inspection of the track means that northbound services towards Redhill, London and Bedford will be unable to stop at Earlswood and Salfords until further notice.
- If you are travelling from Earlswood or Salfords and require a London-bound train, you should instead take the next train to Gatwick Airport and change there
- If you are travelling on a London-bound train and wish to alight at Earlswood or Salfords, you should stay on the train and alight at Redhill instead, changing there for a service back to Earlswood or Salfords
- If you are travelling from Salfords to Earlswood, you will need to take a service to Gatwick Airport, change there for a service to Redhill, and then change at Redhill for a service back to Earlswood

Can you tell me more about the incident?
We've had a report of a possible issue with the track in the affected area. Network Rail's engineers are attending as quickly as possible to carry out a detailed inspection.
There are various different types of defects, and the first advice usually comes from drivers or other staff travelling through the area. Response staff will check the location which has been specified and find out whether the track is still supported correctly, whether the rails themselves are in the usual condition, and if there are any problems with the fixings and metalwork which attach the rails to the sleepers.
Until this is done, trains will need to run using different lines compared to normal, which means they are no longer able to stop at Earlswood or Salfords in the direction of Redhill/London.
