A fault on a train in the Haydon Bridge area means that some lines are blocked.
As a result, trains running between Carlisle and Hexham may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Disruption is expected until 11:00.

Effect on service:
Carlisle to Newcastle service can only operate between Hexham and Newcastle.
Newcastle to Carlisle services can run at present, but disruption is expected due to trains being unable to arrive from Carlisle for return journeys.
Alternative travel suggestions:
The route between Hexham and Newcastle can currently run as booked in both directions.
Rail Replacement:
To assist you in completing your journey, road transport has been requested. Any recruited vehicles will be advertised accordingly.
Journey times will be extended by around 60 minutes whilst travelling by rail replacement transport.
