A safety inspection of the track at Carstairs means trains between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or cancelled.

- CrossCountry between Edinburgh and Birmingham New Street
- ScotRail between Glasgow Central / Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh
- TransPennine Express via any reasonable route
- Northern between Carlisle and Newcastle

Tickets will be accepted on the following routes:
- Northern services between Manchester Airport / Liverpool Lime street and Preston, and also between Carlisle and Newcastle
- Avanti West Coast between Preston/ Glasgow Central and Edinburgh (when the line reopens)
- TransPennine Express services between Edinburgh and Newcastle, and also between Newcastle, Manchester and Liverpool Lime Street.
- LNER between Edinburgh and York
- CrossCountry between Edinburgh and Leeds
