A problem with a river bridge between Swale and Sheerness-on-Sea means that all lines are be blocked. Train services running between these stations may be cancelled or revised to start / terminate at Swale.

Disruption is expected until 09:00.

What's happened?

We've been informed that the Kingsferry Bridge at Swale developed a fault and is currently stuck in the up position. Engineers are on site working to lower the bridge.

How does this affect my journey?

Trains are unable to run between Swale and Sheerness. The first two trains will terminate and start at Swale:

- 05:05 Gillingham to Sheerness will terminate at Swale

- 05:43 Sheerness to Sittingbourne will start at Swale

- 05:53 Sittingbourne to Sheerness will terminate at Swale

- 06:17 Sheerness to Sittingbourne will start at Swale

A bus replacement service will operate between Swale, Queenborough and Sheerness.

The line will then be suspended until the bridge is fixed with bus replacement service opering between Sittingbourne and Sheerness calling at all stations.
