Passengers have caused disturbance on a train between Sheerness-on-Sea and Sittingbourne, damaging the unit that is used to run the service on this line.
As a result, trains are currently unable to operate between these stations, and have been cancelled.
Disruption is expected until 18:30.
What has happened?
We have been advised by a driver of a train at Queemborough that passengers were causing disturbance on the train. Police have been called and are on site. The train has been taken out of service because of the damage caused.
How does this affect my journey?
Trains are currently unable to run on the Sheerness line. The damaged train will go in to the depot and we will look to find a replacement train for the Sheerness services.
What should I do?
Please check before you travel and allow extra time to complete your journey.
A replacement bus is running on the Sheerness line until another train arrives from the depot.
