There is late notice engineering work is taking place in the Purley area, resulting in the closure of some lines.

Only one train is running direct between Gatwick Airport and East Croydon every 90 minutes.

A limited bus service is in operation between Redhill and Purley, continuing to East Croydon.

Buses are running until 14:00 and the normal train timetable will begin resuming from 14:00.

Southern / Thameslink customers are strongly advised to travel after 14:00 if possible on the London / Croydon - Gatwick - Sussex Cost route. Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes.

Ticket Acceptance:

Tickets will be accepted on Metrobus route 100 between Redhill and Gatwick Airport and paper tickets will be accepted on London Buses between Redhill and East Croydon (Oyster users should tap in on the bus as usual). Passengers holding tickets travelling between London and:​​​​​​​

  • Stations on the East Coastway (Brighton and stations furthest east), can travel via St Leonards Warrior Square and use Southeastern services to / from London
  • Stations between Redhill and Leigh, can travel via Tonbridge and use Southeastern services to / from London
  • Stations on the West Coastway (Brighton and stations further west), can travel via Havant and use South Western Railway services to / from London
  • Stations between Gatwick Airport and Redhill, can travel via Dorking Deepdene and use Great Western Railway services

 

Customers wishing to drive to East Grinstead or Uckfield route stations may use pre-purchased tickets to travel to / from London all day.
