A fault on a train between Oxenholme Lake District and Windermere means fewer trains can run on all lines. As a result, trains will be cancelled.

This is expected until the end of the day.

Alternative Travel Suggestions

Customers have ticket acceptance to travel on Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express services between Oxenholme and Preston for the rest of the day.

Road Transport details

To assist customers to complete their journey, road transport has been provided between Oxenholme/Preston and Windermere in both directions as follows:

  • 21:30 and 22:22 Oxenholme to Windermere calling at Oxenholme, Kendal, Burneside, Staveley and Windermere
  • 21:47 Windermere to Oxenholme calling at Windermere, Staveley, Burneside, Kendal and Oxenholme
  • 22:47 Windermere to Preston calling at Windermere, Staveley, Burneside, Kendal, Oxenholme, Lancaster and Preston

Journey times will be extended by 1 hour whilst travelling by Rail Replacement transport.
