Engineering work is taking place between Severn Tunnel Junction and Newport, closing some lines.

Great Western Railway:

Trains from London Paddington to Swansea / Carmarthen will be retimed to arrive / depart Newport slightly later than usual.

Trains from Carmarthen / Swansea to London Paddington will be retimed to depart Swansea / Newport and stations in between a few minutes earlier than usual.

Trains between Portsmouth Harbour / Taunton and Cardiff Central will be retimed to run a few minutes earlier or later than usual at Newport / Cardiff Central.

Additionally:

  • The 07:55 Swansea to London Paddington service will start from Cardiff Central. An earlier replacement bus will run from Swansea to Cardiff Central (fast) to connect with the train. A second bus will run from Swansea to Neath, Port Talbot Parkway, Bridgend and Cardiff Central to connect with the train.
  • The 08:32 Swansea to London Paddington service will start slightly later than usual, and will run later than usual throughout.
  • The 14:13 London Paddington to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Bristol Parkway.
  • The 16:50 Cardiff Central to London Paddington service will start from Bristol Parkway.

Transport for Wales:

It is not yet known how Transport for Wales will be affected by this engineering work.
