Engineering work is taking place in the Rutherglen and Motherwell areas closing most lines.
Caledonian Sleeper
The Friday night departure from London Kings Cross to Glasgow Central will be diverted between Edinburgh and Glasgow Central and will be unable to call at Motherwell and Carstairs. These works will also affect Sunday departures.
CrossCountry
On Saturday and Sunday, buses will replace trains between Motherwell and Glasgow Central.
London North Eastern Railway
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, trains will terminate at Edinburgh, a replacement bus service will operate between Edinburgh and Motherwell. Customers for Glasgow should use ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street.

- Glasgow Central - Edinburgh (via Carstairs): Trains will be replaced by buses.
- Glasgow Central - Edinburgh (via Shotts): Trains will only run between Carfin and Edinburgh, buses will run between Glasgow Central and Shotts.
- Glasgow Central - Newton: These services will be extended to Larkhall and Motherwell.
- Glasgow Central - Lanark: These services will be replaced by buses between Motherwell and Lanark.
- Glasgow Central Low Level services will operate to a revised timetable.
- Buses will run between Bridgeton and Motherwell (via Whifflet), and between Bridgeton and Newton.

- Glasgow Central - Edinburgh (via Shotts): Trains will only run between Carfin and Edinburgh, buses will run between Glasgow Central and Shotts.
- Glasgow Central - Newton: Services will be extended to Larkhall and Motherwell.
- Glasgow Central - Lanark: Trains will be replaced by buses between Motherwell and Lanark.
- Glasgow Central Low Level services will operate to a revised timetable.
- Buses will run between Bridgeton and Motherwell (via Whifflet), and between Bridgeton and Motherwell (via Hamilton).
Monday 22 April
- Glasgow Central - Edinburgh (via Carstairs): Trains will run between Motherwell and Edinburgh only.
- Glasgow Central - Edinburgh (via Shotts): Trains will only run between Carfin and Edinburgh, buses will run between Glasgow Central and Shotts.
- Glasgow Central - Newton: Services will be extended to Larkhall and Motherwell.
- Glasgow Central - Lanark: An hourly service will operate via Mount Florida, and will not call at Cambuslang. Buses will run between Glasgow Central and Lanark.
- Glasgow Central Low Level services will operate to a revised timetable.
- Buses will run between Bridgeton and Motherwell (via Whifflet), and between Bridgeton and Newton.
TransPennine Express
It is not yet known how TransPennine Express are affected by this engineering work.
Virgin Trains
Trains will be diverted via Kilmarnock, extending journey times.
