Major engineering work will be taking place during the holiday period. Network Rail carry out essential improvement and engineering work across the rail network during this time as fewer people usually travel by train.
Engineering work is taking place between Salisbury and Yeovil Junction, closing some lines. Saturday:
Following a road vehicle colliding with a bridge at Hitchin, trains are now able to run at line speed through this station. Whilst service recovers, journey may be delayed by up to 10 minutes.
A fault with the barriers at a level crossing between East Croydon and Watford Junction means that the line is closed. As a result, trains are currently unable to run between these stations. This is expected until 15:00. Customer Advice
Engineering work is taking place overnight between Dunblane and Auchterarder,in the Helensburgh Central area and at Garelochead, closing some lines.
The emergency services are dealing with an incident at London Victoria meaning some lines are blocked. As a result, trains between London Victoria and Denmark Hill  may be cancelled, delayed or revised. This is expected until 12:30.
