A fault with the signalling system at Edge Hill means that fewer trains are able to run on all lines. As a result, trains running through this station will be cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Preston.
Disruption is expected until 18:00.

The following services will be disrupted in both directions:
- Liverpool Lime Street - Wigan North Western services have been withdrawn
- Liverpool Lime Street - Blackpool North services will call at all stations between Liverpool Lime Street - Preston then terminate and start back from Preston
