Project Information:
This project is all about getting the Merseyrail network ready for the arrival of new modern trains. They will be faster, safer, more comfortable than ever, and able to carry 50% more passengers.
You will benefit from a number of modern features including sliding step technology which will result in unassisted access for all and you will be able to get on and off the trains much more easily. This technology represents a pioneering approach for the UK. Merseyrail need to do some work to the platforms before the new trains arrive and in readiness for the sliding step.
