A member of train crew being unavailable means fewer trains are able to run between Oxenholme Lake District and Windermere.

Disruption is expected until 17:00.

Services between Oxenholme Lake District and Windermere are currently being disrupted due to a member of train crew being unavailable

As a result fewer trains are able to run. Replacement road transport will replace some trains, however these services are likely to be extremely busy.

Effect on service:

Manchester Airport - Oxenholme - Windermere services will be disrupted in both directions

First services affected:

11:29 Manchester Airport - Windermere service has terminated at Preston.

13:58 Windermere - Oxenholme service has been cancelled.

Alternative travel suggestions:

Northern tickets may be used at no additional cost on board TransPennine Express services between Oxenholme and Manchester Airport (in both directions) to allow customers to complete their journey.

Stagecoach Cumbria buses operate between Oxenholme - Kendal - Windermere every 30 minutes. Northern tickets are not accepted for travel on these services and customers who opt to travel on these services will be required to purchase a valid ticket from the bus operator before travelling.

Road Transport:

Road transport has been sourced from KT's coaches and will operate as follows:

Departures from Oxenholme:

14:39 - Two coaches calling at Kendal and Windermere only.

14:39 - A 16 seater bus calling at all stations to Windermere.

Departures from Kendal:

15:41 - Two coaches calling at Windermere only.

15:41 - A 16 seater bus calling at all stations to Windermere.

Departures from Windermere:

16:00 - Two coaches calling at Kendal and Oxenholme only.

16:00 - A 16 seater bus calling at all stations to Oxenholme.

Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.
