All lines through East Dulwich have reopened following an earlier trespass incident. Services between London Bridge and Tulse Hill are returning to normal but may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:30.

Customer advice:

All lines through East Dulwich have now reopened, and trains can begin to run through the area as usual.

Southern are working hard to return to the scheduled timetable, but please continue to check journey planners and station information boards before you travel. Some trains trains which would usually run between London Bridge and East Croydon via Peckham Rye may still divert to run via Norwood Junction, so please ensure your train will call at your expected destination.

If you are travelling now, your journey may take up to 15 minutes longer than usual.

You can use your ticket to travel at no extra cost on:

  • Southern or Thameslink services on any reasonable route
  • London Buses on routes between London Bridge and Tulse Hill

Please note that trains are now on the move through the area, and if you have not already started your journey it may be faster to wait for the next available train.

Remember to check journey planners and station information boards before you travel, and allow extra time to reach your destination.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

We'd like to remind all that trespassing is highly dangerous and illegal. Please remember to stay safe whilst travelling on trains.

In this case, Southern needed to stop trains entirely, as it was not safe to run services past the person. emergency services and Network Rail responders are attending to make sure the person is removed.

Trains run all day, every day - whether passenger trains, freight trains or specialist engineering work machines. It's not possible to be sure that you can hear when a train is coming, and in many cases, you won't see a train until it is very close to you.

There are also electrical systems and cables, slippery surfaces, steep drops and other hazards.

For more information on what Network Rail are doing to reduce trespassing incidents on the railway please see here.
