The Met Office have issued an amber weather warning for strong winds on Friday as a result of Storm Eunice. You are advised not to travel on Southern / Thameslink / Great Northern routes north of London. High winds are forecast resulting in 50 mph speed restrictions across most of the Southern / Thameslink / Great Northern networks during the day.

Check before you travel:
The following alterations are not currently shown in the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. These are expected to be showing correct from tomorrow, Thursday 17 February.

Thameslink and Great Northern Route Impact

London St Pancras International, London Blackfriars and London Bridge

  • There will be no service though central London, you will need to use London Underground or London Buses to complete your journey.
  • There will be no Northern line service between Moorgate and Kennington.

 

Peterborough, Kings Lynn and Cambridge and London - Do Not Travel on these routes

  • Do Not Travel on these routes, disruption to these services is anticipated and a significant reduction in service will apply.
  • Kings Lynn trains will only run between Kings Lynn and Cambridge.
  • Peterborough trains will only run between Peterborough and Stevenage, you will need to change trains to complete journeys to / from London.
  • Fewer trains will run between Cambridge and London, trains that do run will run to / from London Kings Cross, there will be no services to / from London St Pancras International on these routes.

 

Bedford, St Albans and London - Do Not Travel on this route

  • Do Not Travel on these routes, disruption to these services is anticipated and a significant reduction in service will apply.
  • The only service on this route will be an all stations service which will run between Bedford and London St Pancras International every 15 minutes. (These services will use the usual 'Thameslink platforms at London St Pancras International).

 

Great Northern Moorgate Services - Do Not Travel on this route

  • Do Not Travel on these routes, disruption to these services is anticipated.
  • These trains will be running as planned but we disruption on the route because of the high winds is anticipated.

 

Rainham and London

  • These trains will only run between Rainham and Dartford, you will need to use Southeastern services to / from London to complete your journey.

 

Thameslink and Southern Route Impact

Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Redhill and London

  • Fewer Thameslink trains will run on these routes, those that do run will only run to / from London Blackfriars. Journeys will still be possible on the reduced service.

 

Horsham and London​​​​​​​

  • Thameslink trains will only run to and from London Blackfriars, Southern services will continue to run but may be delayed during their journey.

 

Sutton/Wimbledon Loop

  • No Thameslink service will run on this route, while some journey options will be available on Southern services other journeys will involve using Tramlink or London Buses.
  • Stations between Sutton and Tooting via Wimbledon will have no service at all, you will need to use alternatives for journeys to/from these stations.

 

Southern Route Impact

East Coastway

  • Fewer services will run between Brighton and Lewes.
  • Services between London and Ore will only run between London Bridge and Eastbourne, you will need to change at Eastbourne to complete journeys.

 

West Coastway​​​​​​​

  • Services that would normally have run between Brighton and Southampton Central will not run. You will need to change at Barnham / Littlehampton to complete journeys on this route.

 

Ticket Arrangements

To help you complete your journey we have made tickets available with other operators, and relaxed some restrictions on our own routes. You should be aware that this national weather event means disruption to other operators services is highly likely too.

North of London

Tickets from stations on either the route to/from Bedford or Peterborough / Cambridge, can be used from stations on either route. i.e. if you have a ticket from Stevenage to London, you can use this at Luton.

South of London

Thameslink Only ticket holders can use Southern services where there is no Thameslink service available.

Southeastern between Dartford and London, and between Hastings and London.
