Urgent repairs to the railway are required at Gravesend, which will mean no trains can use platform 0 at the station until the work is completed. Trains can still run via platforms 1 and 2 during this time.
Some initial work will be carried out on the evening of Thursday 6th July, however as the repairs are required on a specialist set of points (the equipment used to move trains from one line to another), there is currently no estimate for when the main part of the work will be carried out so there is currently no estimate for when platform 0 will reopen.
How does this affect my journey?
No trains will be able to run to or from platform 0 at Gravesend - this means that trains which usually start and terminate at Gravesend will not be able to do so until further notice.
Services will be amended as follows:
High speed services via Gravesend will be able to run normally through Gravesend.
In addition to this, there will be no trains via Gravesend after 22:45 on Thursday 6th July, to allow Network Rail to carry out initial work on the railway in advance of the full repairs being carried out. Further details on how services are affected by this will be made available later today.
