A fault on a train at Ancaster is disrupting services between Sleaford and Grantham. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 16:00.

Customer advice:

There is a broken down train at Ancaster between Sleaford and Grantham disrupting our trains on the Skegness / Nottingham route.

The driver of the broken down train has managed to get the train moving but at reduced speed. Network Rail are supporting the operator to get it clear of the line. We have estimate the train should be clear by 14:15.

Trains running through the area in the Grantham direction cannot run between Sleaford and Grantham.

Trains running through the area in the Sleaford direction can run normally between Grantham and Sleaford however may be disrupted as a result of trains being unable to run in the opposite direction.

At present we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next hour. As soon as the problem is fixed the priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect the advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 15:00.

We have relaxed some of our usual ticket restrictions. If you hold an ‘Advance Ticket’ which is usually valid on a specific train you may use it to travel on any of our trains on this route.

If you have an ‘Off Peak’ or ‘Super Off Peak’ ticket you may use it on board Peak Time trains on this route today.

If you have a ticket dated for travel today (Friday 18 October) and decide not to travel you may use your ticket to travel tomorrow (Saturday 19 October) instead.
