Disruption between Ipswich and Norwich expected until further notice

Due to a track defect between Diss and Stowmarket some lines are blocked.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until further notice.

Customer Advice

Due to a defect having been detected in the rails that form the line from Norwich to Stowmarket, trains are unable to run between Ipswich and Norwich.  Trains on the Liverpool Street to Norwich route will terminate and start at Ipswich, the routes between Ipswich and Cambridge and Ipswich and Peterborough remain unaffected. 

We are currently trying to source buses to operate a Rail Replacement Bus service. 

Network Rail engineers are en route to the site of the track, in order to assess and repair the track.
