A points failure at Potters Bar is causing disruption to journeys between Finsbury Park and Welwyn Garden City. As a result, trains between these stations may be cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected until 09:00.
Customer Advice:
Moorgate to Welwyn Garden City services are unable to stop at Welham Green at the moment. This does not affect the stopping pattern for services in the other direction.
- If you're at this station travelling northbound, you should change platforms and take a train to Brookmans Park, changing there for a service back towards Welwyn Garden City.
- If you need to get to this station from London, change at Hatfield for a return service.
Your journey time will take at least 15 minutes longer than usual this morning.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
Network Rail has identified a points failure on this route. Points are moveable sections of track, so when they fail, it means trains cannot proceed in the correct direction. Engineers are on the case and staff will let you know when everything is back up and running again.
