A safety inspection between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport is causing disruption to services between these stations. Trains may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or diverted.
Disruption is expected until 21:00.
Customer Advice:
A safety inspection is being carried out on some of the tracks between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport.
This is mainly affecting the route used by express services which run non-stop from either London Victoria or East Croydon to Gatwick Airport.
These trains may divert around the area by running through Redhill. This route takes approximately 10-15 minutes longer, and the diversion of express trains will also lead to some congestion for stopping trains via Redhill.
You can still use your normal train, but if you are travelling with Southern, Thameslink or Gatwick Express on this route tonight, please expect a delay.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
Network Rail staff are investigating a report that there may be a problem with the track. Response staff are being sent to site and staff are monitoring progress closely.
