Customer Advice
You are advised to use your normal route for travel, but please be aware that there is a signalling problem at Farlington Junction. This is a junction near Bedhampton, and at this location, trains are routed either towards Portsmouth area stations, or towards Southampton Central.
This means that some trains may encounter minor delays when travelling from Havant towards either Portsmouth or Southampton Central.
Some South Western Railway services are also delayed by this problem.
Can you tell me more about the incident?
Train drivers are having to stop and call the signaller to seek verbal permission to proceed, instead of relying on the indications usually shown by the signals on this section of the railway. This takes several extra minutes compared to normal operation.
Network Rail maintain the signalling system and are currently investigating this issue.
