Engineering work is taking place at various locations between Preston and Carlisle, closing all lines.

Avanti West Coast:

Saturday

Between London Euston and Glasgow Central (via Nuneaton) will start / terminate at Preston or Carlisle

Between London Euston and Blackpool North / Glasgow Central / Edinburgh (via Birmingham New Street) will start / terminate at Preston.

A replacement bus service has yet to be confirmed.

Sunday

All Avanti West Coast services will start / terminate at Preston.

Northern:

Sunday only:

Between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness: Trains will not run for most of the day. The 20:46 Barrow-in-Frurness to Lancaster service, and the 22:20 Lancaster to Barrow-in-Furness services will run as normally advertised.

Between Oxenholme and Windermere: Trains will not run.

Between Lancaster and Morecambe: Trains will not run.

Buses will be provided between:

  • Preston and Barrow-in-Furness, calling at all stations except Silverdale and Arnside,
  • Preston and Windermere, calling at Lancaster and Kendal
  • Oxenholme and Windermere, calling at all intermediate stations.
  • A mini-bus service will be provided between Lancaster and Arnside, calling at Bare Lane, Morecambe, Carnforth and Silverdale.

ScotRail:

ScotRail have yet to confirm how they are affected by these works.

TransPennine Express:

Saturday

There will be no TransPennine Express services between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh.

Trains will operate between Manchester Airport and Carlisle only.

Sunday

There will be no TransPennine Express services between Preston and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh. Trains will operate between Manchester Airport and Preston only. Rail replacement buses to be confirmed
