Engineering work is taking place between Wigan North Western and Leyland closing the line.

London Northwestern Railway

No trains will run between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street. Replacement buses will run between Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway. Customers should then use Merseyrail train between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool to complete their journey.

Northern

All day Saturday and Sunday and until approximately 11:55 Monday, buses will replace trains between Wigan North Western and Preston.

Saturday only, trains between Manchester Victoria and Buckshaw Parkway are extended to run to / from Blackpool North.

Sunday only, trains will be diverted via and calling at Bolton and Chorley.

Customers to / from Wigan North Western should use alternative trains to / from Manchester Piccadilly.

Virgin Trains

Trains between London Euston and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh are diverted between Crewe and Preston via Manchester Piccadilly and Bolton. Replacement buses will run between Crewe and Preston.

Trains between London Euston and Liverpool Central are diverted between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street via Manchester Piccadilly and Newton-le-Willows. Rail replacement buses will run between Crewe and Liverpool Lime Street via Runcorn
