Grand Central services will not run August 24 & August 25

Please be aware that Grand Central services will not be running on August 24 and 25 due to essential engineering works taking place at King's Cross station. Additionally, an amended service will be in operation on Friday August 23 and Monday August 26. Services are expected to be busy during these periods so we are advising all customers not to travel over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

20% off your next Grand Central journey

When you book online with Grand Central, we’ll send you a unique 20% discount

You’ll get an e-mail from us with your unique voucher code so all you need to do is enter your journey details in the ‘Find your train’ panel and press search.

At the checkout, you’ll be asked to enter the voucher code and the discount will automatically be applied to all eligible train tickets. All Grand Central journeys are highlighted in orange on the results page.

Your unique voucher code can only be used once, and is only available for a limited time, so why not plan your next trip with Grand Central now!

  • Information for customers who booked travel before June 19th 2019
    • The 20% loyalty discount was temporarily suspended between November 2018 and June 2019 in preparation for this migration, however some customers may have been issued with codes on an ad hoc basis by our customer relations department.
    • If you have a 20% discount code which is still valid but has not yet been used, you will need to contact us or call 0345 603 4852 in order to be provided with a new code. Codes issued prior to June 19th 2019 will not work in the new booking system.

Good to know

  • The 20% discount is available for Grand Central Advance, Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets only which are exclusively for use on Grand Central trains.
  • One discount code per customer will be issued within any seven day period.
  • If part of your journey is with another operator then you must buy a separate ticket for that part of the route.
  • Bookings made with the discount code are for a maximum of 8 people travelling

To receive the discount:

  • The date of travel must be the same for all outward journeys and the same for all return journeys.
  • All tickets purchased in the transaction must depart from and arrive at the same outward and return destinations.

Please note the 20% discount e-mail will only be sent to customers who are opted in to our communications and 7 days after they have taken the final leg of their booked journey. If you have purchased an open return ticket, the discount code will be issued seven days after the expiry of the return leg of your journey - ordinarily this is 37 days after the outward portion of your journey.

    • The discount e-mail is sent to customers who have purhcased any train ticket / tickets on the Grand Central site providing they are opted-in to our communications when they buy their ticket / tickets
    • The e-mail with the discount is sent to the customer 7 days after their booked journey date
    • No discount e-mail is sent if a refund is given to the original booked ticket / tickets
    • The 20% discount is available for Grand Central Advance, Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets only which are exclusively for use on Grand Central trains.
    • The discount is not available against other train company tickets or other fare types.
    • Discounts apply to both Adult and Child fares and are available on both Standard and First Class Advance train tickets.
    • Grand Central Advance, Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets are subject to availability.
    • Please note that the voucher code shown in your e-mail can only be used once for one transaction.
    • Bookings made with the voucher code are for a maximum of 8 people travelling.
    • All tickets purchased in the transaction must depart from and arrive at the same outward and return destinations.
    • The discount can only be applied to Grand Central Advance, Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets, the maximum number of single tickets which can be purchased is 16 (e.g. eight x Advance train tickets in the outward direction and eight x Advance train tickets in the return direction).
    • The date of travel must be the same for all outward journeys and the same for all return journeys.
    • One discount code per customer will be issued within any seven day period.
    • The voucher code is only valid for bookings made within 1 month of receipt of your e-mail. Voucher codes can only be issued once. Grand Central will not take responsibility for any lost or deleted voucher codes - replacements cannot be issued.
    • The Grand Central Advance, Anytime and Off-Peak train tickets will only be valid on the Grand Central network - the tickets will not be accepted by other train operators. For details of the Grand Central network, please see our route map.
    • If part of your journey is with another operator then you must buy a separate ticket for that part of the route.
    • The National Rail Conditions of Travel apply for travel on all Grand Central trains.
    • Grand Central reserves the right to withdraw this offer or amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
