Grand Central is proud to support serving military personnel and veterans with complimentary travel to attend Remembrance services.
London Poppy Day (30th October)
- Free travel to any London Terminal for Royal British Legion volunteers and collectors.
- Travel to London permitted on 30th October plus one day either side of the London Poppy Day event.
Submariners’ Remembrance Service (1st November)
- Free travel for serving military personnel and veterans attending the Submariners' Remembrance Service.
- Travel to London permitted on Saturday 1st or Sunday 2nd November with return on Sunday 2nd November.
Remembrance Sunday (9th November)
- Free rail travel for serving military personnel and veterans attending the Cenotaph service in London.
- Travel to London permitted on Saturday 8th or Sunday 9th November with return on Sunday 9th November.
- Free return travel also available on Sunday 9th November for Services of Remembrance taking place outside London.
Free Refreshments on board Grand Central services
To further show our appreciation, Grand Central will also offer a complimentary tea or coffee from the on-board buffet to any veteran or serving personnel travelling to or from London on 10th, 11th and 12th November.

Eligibility
- Serving personnel must present a MOD90 ID or be in uniform.
- Veterans must show a Veterans Railcard, MOD-issued Veterans ID, Veterans Oyster card or other appropriate proof of service.
- London Poppy Day volunteers or collectors must present a Royal British Legion-issued collector’s ID card.
Please note that there are no Grand Central trains on our North East route this weekend due to engineering works.
