The multiple signalling system faults in the Peterborough area have reoccurred, meaning that trains have to run at reduced speeds on all lines again.
Trains through Peterborough may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
Major disruption is expected until 16:00.
Customer advice:
Network Rail have attended and were able to resolve the issue, however, it has now unfortunately reoccurred. The team are going back to revisit the issue and we are currently awaiting an estimated time of arrival.
CrossCountry:
Your ticket can be used, at no extra cost on the following services:
- The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service
- East Midlands Railway via any reasonable route
- Greater Anglia via any reasonable route
- LNER via any reasonable route
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost
Unfortunately, any seat reservations will not be carried over to another train, but coaches B, H and L are the unreserved coaches on CrossCountry services (where available) so please head to them.

Trains will not be able to run through Peterborough in either direction while the fault is being reinvestigated.
How do I get where I need to be?
You may use your ticket at no extra cost on LNER services between Peterborough and Doncaster in both directions.
You may use your ticket at no extra cost on CrossCountry services from Peterborough towards Derby / Nottingham if required. Delays also apply on this route so please plan your journey in advance to check what the best option is for you.
If your train on the Norwich / Nottingham / Liverpool route is not calling at Sheffield and this is your origin / destination, please use East Midlands Railway or Northern services to help you on your journey in either direction.
A standby bus will be in place from 11:30 at Spalding and from Peterborough at 12:30 in the event that road transport is required to keep you on the move.
LNER:
Due to the severity of today's disruption at Peterborough LNER are advising customers to defer their travel. You can use your ticket today (Wednesday 16) for travel tomorrow (Thursday 17 July) at no extra cost.

- Residual disruption between Bedford and Kettering
Trains can now run as normal between Bedford and Kettering.
Additional information:
East Midlands Railway tickets dated for journeys yesterday, Tuesday 12 August, will be valid for travel today, Wednesday 13 August.
- Lines reopened: major disruption in Balham and Streatham areas
Following an earlier trespass incident in the Balham area earlier today, trains are now able to run between Balham and Clapham Junction, and between Sutton and Streatham as normal.
- Lines reopened: disruption in the Bristol Temple Meads area
Trains are now able to run as normal in the Bristol Temple Meads area.
- Residual disruption across the c2c network
Trains are now operating as normal across the c2c network.
- Disruption between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton
Following a fire next to the track between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton, trains are now able to run between these stations as normal.
- Lines reopened: disruption between Ascot and Virginia Water
Disruption caused by a tree on the line at Sunningdale has now ended.
- Disruption between Bath Spa / Westbury and Swindon
Disruption between Chippenham and Swindon, caused by an earlier points failure, has now ended.
- No trains between Rye and Ashford International
Disruption caused by a fault with a level crossing in the Rye area has now ended.
- Delays at Haymarket
Following an earlier trespass incident, trains can now run as normal through Haymarket.
- Lines reopened: disruption between Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central
Trains are now operating as normal between Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central. Disruption was a result of an earlier trespass incident.
- Lines reopened: disruption to Thameslink services between London St Pancras International and London Blackfriars
Disruption caused by a broken rail between London St Pancras International and London Blackfriars has now ended.
- Lines reopened: disruption between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin expected until 15:00
Lines have reopened following a fault with the signalling systembetween Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin. As service recovers, trains running between these stations will be cancelled.
Disruption is expected until 15:00.

There are mini bus replacement services in place, running between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade.

- Disruption between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aylesbury expected until 12:45
A fault with the signalling system between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Great Missenden means that all lines running between these stations are closed.
As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

- Disruption between Didcot Parkway and Swindon today
A safety inspection of the track between Didcot Parkway and Swindon means trains have to run at a reduced speed. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

A fault with the signalling system between Southport and Freshfield means that the Southport line is disrupted.
Trains are unable to run between Southport and Formby, and will be revised.

- Resolved: disruption between Shenfield and Brentwood
Disruption caused by a vehicle striking a bridge between Shenfield and Brentwood has now ended.
- Hillington West Platform Renewal: Services towards Paisley Gilmour Street will not call at Hillington West from Sunday 18 May to Saturday 23 August
Engineering work is taking place on Platform 2 at Hillington West station, closing the platform for 13 weeks (project background information is available below).
Due to this, Westbound trains (towards Paisley Gilmour Street) will not call at Hillington West. Eastbound services (towards Glasgow Central) are not affected by this and will run as normal.
If you are travelling to / from Hillington West you should instead travel to / from Hillington East if possible. Hillington East is a short distance from Hillington West.

Background information on this project:
Network Rail will be delivering nearly £3m of upgrades in platform works at Hillington West station. The investment will not only improve safety and reliability of the railway but will provide modern, safer platforms and wider improvements to the station environment for passengers.
The project consists of two 13-week phases, the first phase being the renewal of platform 1. Once platform 1 is renewed it will reopen and teams will then spend 13 weeks renewing platform 2.
- Hamilton West Platform Renewal: Services towards Motherwell / Larkhall will not call at Hamilton West from Sunday 18 May to Friday 29 August
Engineering work is taking place on Platform 2 at Hamilton West station, closing the platform for the duration.
Due to this, Eastbound trains (towards Motherwell / Larkhall) will not call at Hamilton West. Westbound services (towards Glasgow Central) are not affected by this and will run as normal.
If you are travelling to / from Hamilton West you should instead travel to / from Hamilton Central if possible. Hamilton Central is a short distance from Hamilton West.

- Rhymney line transformation: Buses replace trains between Caerphilly and Rhymney from Saturday 19 July to Sunday 31 August
Engineering work is taking place between Caerphilly and Rhymney, closing all lines from Saturday 19 July to Sunday 31 August (except Friday 1 August when lines are open for an event).
For the duration, when the lines are closed, buses will replace trains between Caerphilly and Rhymney, calling at all stations.
Background Information:
The Rhymney line is being upgraded as part of the next phase of the South Wales Metro. This six-week line closure is part of an intensive 8-month programme of engineering work on the upper Rhymney line, from Caerphilly to Rhymney.
The work taking place includes installing Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) to electrify the line, upgrading the track and signalling, and making station and infrastructure improvements. This will allow the introduction of brand-new tri-mode trains onto the Rhymney line, powered by electricity from the OLE, battery and diesel.

Major Engineering work is taking place at Stockport, and between Handforth / Bramhall and Stoke-on-Trent, closing all lines.

Avanti West Coast
No trains will run between Levenshulme and Wilmslow / Stafford via Stoke-on-Trent.
Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston will run a reduced service of 2 trains per hour. These trains will be diverted between Manchester Piccadilly and Wilmslow via Heald Green.
Replacement bus services will run between:
- Wilmslow and Stockport
- Wilmslow and Macclesfield
- Crewe and Stafford, calling at Stoke-on-Trent
CrossCountry
No trains will run between Manchester Piccadilly and Stoke-on-Trent.
Replacement bus services will run between:
- Stockport and Stoke-on-Trent calling at Macclesfield
- Macclesfield and Stafford calling at Stoke-on-Trent

You can use other operators buses for connections to / from Manchester Piccadilly.
East Midlands Railway
An amended timetable will run on the Liverpool Lime Street to Norwich route, trains will run between Sheffield and Norwich only.
On Saturdays and Sundays, replacement bus service will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield.

You can use alternative train operators services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly / Sheffield.
London Northwestern Railway
From Sunday to Friday, buses will replace trains between Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford.
Services between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe / Birmingham New Street will run to an amended timetable.
Northern
Buses will replace trains between:
- Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport
- Manchester Piccadilly and Hazel Grove
- Manchester Piccadilly and Chester (Sunday only)
- Stockport and Stoke-on-Trent
Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Alderley Edge / Crewe via Stockport will not run.
Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe will run to a reduced timetable and will call additionally at Chelford and Goostrey.
Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester will run to a reduced timetable between Altrincham and Chester only.
Trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Buxton will run to a reduced timetable between Hazel Grove and Buxton only.

- Bus route 192 between Manchester city centre and Stockport

TransPennine Express
Buses will replace trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport.
Trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Cleethorpes will run to an amended timetable, and will divert via Romiley.
Transport for Wales:
Transport for Wales services will not serve Stockport station.
Services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe will divert between Manchester Piccadilly and Wilmslow, running to an amended timetable.
To / from Manchester Piccadilly / Stockport, a joint bus operation will be in place with other train operating companies.
Additionally, some Transport for Wales services between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly / Chester / North Wales will run at amended times between Manchester Airport, East Didsbury and Manchester Piccadilly.

The following trains will be amended:
Saturday
The 12:36 Sheffield to London St Pancras International train will start from Sheffield earlier than scheduled at 12:34, it will then return to its scheduled departure time from Chesterfield through to London St Pancras International.
Sunday
The 10:52 Sheffield to London St Pancras International train will arrive at London St Pancras International 15 minutes later than scheduled at 13.23. The 12:27 Corby to London St Pancras International train will depart Corby earlier than scheduled at 12:23, it will continue to run up to 4 minutes earlier, it will then arrive at London St Pancras International at it's scheduled time.
Monday to Friday
The 22:47 London St Pancras International to Corby train will terminate at Kettering at 00.01. A connecting rail replacement bus will run between Kettering and Corby.
The 23:05 London St Pancras International to Derby train will depart Leicester earlier than scheduled at 01:03, it will continue to run up to 28 minutes earlier throughout. The 23:35 London St Pancras International to Nottingham train will depart Kettering later than scheduled at 00:58, it will then depart Leicester earlier than scheduled at 01:24. It will continue to run up to 25 minutes earlier throughout.
Monday to Thursday
The 13:37 Sheffield to London St Pancras International train will depart Sheffield earlier than scheduled at 13:35, it will then return to its scheduled departure time from Chesterfield through to London St Pancras International.
The 23:54 London St Pancras International to Corby train will depart Luton Airport Parkway later than scheduled at 00:34, it will contiune to run up to 2 minutes later and will terminate at Kettering at 01:22. A connecting rail replacement bus will run between Kettering and Corby.
Tuesday to Friday
The 04:13 Derby to London St Pancras International train will depart Derby later than scheduled at 04:31, it will continue to run up to 18 minutes later until Kettering, where it will return to its scheduled departure time through to London St Pancras International. The 04:32 Corby to London St Pancras International train will start from Kettering at 04:40. A connecting rail replacement bus will run between Corby and Kettering.
The 04:58 Sheffield to London St Pancras International train will depart Sheffield earlier than scheduled at 04:40, it will then depart Chesterfield later than scheduled at 05:11, before returning to its scheduled departure time from Derby through to London St Pancras International.
The 05:27 London St Pancras International to Sheffield train will depart Leicester 2 minutes earlier than scheduled at 06:37, it will continue to run up to 2 minutes earlier throughout. The 05:38 Corby to London St Pancras International train will start from Kettering at 05:45 and will depart Wellingborough 1 minute earlier than scheduled at 05:53, it will then return to its scheduled departure time from Bedford through to London St Pancras International. A connecting rail replacement bus will run between Corby and Kettering. The 06:10 Corby to London St Pancras International train will start from Kettering at 06:18. A connecting rail replacement bus will run between Corby and Kettering.
Friday
The 23:54 London St Pancras International to Corby train will depart Luton Airport Parkway later than scheduled at 00:34, it will contiune to run up to 3 minutes later and will terminate at Kettering at 01:23. A connecting rail replacement bus will run between Kettering and Corby.

- Amended late night / early morning Lumo services between Newcastle and Edinburgh from Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 August
Engineering work is taking place between Newcastle and Edinburgh, closing some lines overnight from Monday evening until Wednesday morning.
Monday and Tuesday:
The 20:27 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh service will terminate at Newcastle.
Tuesday and Wednesday:
The 06:23 Edinburgh to London Kings Cross service will start from Newcastle at 07:57.

- Amended 23:30 London Liverpool Street to Norwich service from Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 August
Engineering work is taking place between Ipswich and Norwich, closing all lines overnight from Monday evening until Thursday morning.
As a result, the 23:30 London Liverpool Street to Norwich service will terminate at Ipswich. A replacement bus will run from Ipswich to Norwich.

Engineering work is taking place between Exeter St Davids / Eggesford and Barnstaple, closing various lines overnight from Monday evening until Thursday morning.
As a result:
- The 20:54 Exmouth to Barnstaple will terminate at Crediton. Road transport will run at 21:50 from Crediton to Copplestone, Morchard Road, Lapford, Eggesford, Kings Nympton, Umberleigh and Barnstaple. Also road transport (taxi) will run at 21:48 from Crediton to Yeoford
- The 22:41 Barnstaple to Exeter St Davids will not run and will be replaced by road transport at 22:41 from Barnstaple to Umberleigh, Eggesford, Morchard Road, Copplestone, Crediton, Newton St Cyres and Exeter St Davids. Also, road transport (taxis) will run connecting with this bus at Crediton: At 23:35 from Yeoford to Crediton, arriving at 23:49, and at 23:59 from Crediton to Yeoford

- Amended evening trains in the Swindon area from Monday 11 to Thursday 14 August
Engineering work is taking place between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads / Gloucester, closing lines late on Monday to Thursday evenings.
Monday to Wednesday:
The 22:28 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service will be diverted between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads, and will not call at Chippenham or Bath Spa. Replacement buses will run between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads, calling at Chippenham or Bath Spa.
Monday to Thursday:
The 23:32 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service will be diverted between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads, and will not call at Chippenham or Bath Spa. Replacement buses will run between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads, calling at Chippenham or Bath Spa.

The 04:48 Manchester Airport to Blackpool North service will be diverted via (but not call at) Wigan North Western, and will not call at Salford Crescent, Bolton, Horwich Parkway, Chorley or Buckshaw Parkway. You should use the next available Northern service, at no extra cost.

Engineering work is taking place on the freight only route between St Andrews and Bristol Parkway, closing all lines.
As a result, freight trains to / from Avonmouth will be diverted to run via Clifton Down.
Every Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 16:00, and after 20:00, an amended and reduced service of one train per hour will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth / Severn Beach.
