Following a fault with the signalling system in the Forest Hill area, all lines have reopened. Trains between London Bridge / Surrey Quays and Crystal Palace / Norwood Junction may still be delayed, cancelled or revised. London Overground services between Highbury & Islington and West Croydon will be cancelled or run between Highbury & Islington and Surrey Quays only.
Southern and Thameslink services between London Bridge and Crystal Palace / Norwood Junction may be cancelled, delayed up to 15 minutes or revised.
Disruption is expected until 16:00.

Arrangements previously made with Southern to convey passengers have now been withdrawn.
Southern and Thameslink customer advice:
Earlier today, a signalling fault was delaying services between London Bridge, Norwood Junction and East Croydon / West Croydon.
As a result, we had to make a number of service changes and also cancel trains on some Southern and Thameslink routes.
All lines have now reopened, but Southern / Thameslink are still working to get our trains and crews back in place.
Until this process is completed, you may have to use alternative services, change trains more often or use a different route to complete your journey.
Please allow at least 20 minutes of extra time, and see below for further details.
Thameslink also recommend you check our online journey planning tools before you travel, and when travelling, listen to announcements and check station screens.
Service changes and alternative journey options:
As well as the changes below, there may be some ad hoc alterations at times.
Tickets can be used interchangeably between Southern and Thameslink at no extra cost on any reasonable route.
Some Thameslink services between Cambridge and Brighton may still be cancelled in both directions
There will be alternative Great Northern services between Cambridge and London Kings Cross, and stopping services on this route will call additionally at Ashwell & Morden until a normal service is resumed.
Alternative Thameslink services will run between London St Pancras International and Brighton (St Pancras is a 2 minute journey from London Kings Cross).
Some Southern services between London Bridge and London Victoria will be cancelled in both directions:
If there is a long wait until the next direct service, you are likely to need to change trains or use alternative local public transport options to complete journeys.
You can use your ticket at no extra cost on London Underground services, including the Jubilee line between London Bridge and Canada Water; London Overground services on the Windrush line between Canada Water, New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace and London Bus services across the area.
Some Southern services between London Bridge and Epsom will be cancelled in both directions:
Alternative Southern services will run between London Victoria and Epsom, and you can also use London Buses for local journeys and South Western Railway services between London Waterloo, Wimbledon, Ewell West and Epsom at no extra cost.
Please note that Ewell East will have a limited service due to these cancellations, and you may wish to use Ewell West as an alternative.
Some Thameslink services from Bedford towards Three Bridges (which usually run via Redhill) will be diverted between London Blackfriars and East Croydon, and between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport, in this direction only:
These trains may still have delays after the diversion between London Blackfriars and East Croydon, and this means they may not call at London Bridge, Norwood Junction, Purley, Redhill, Earlswood, Salfords or Horley.
Alternative Thameslink services will run via London Bridge, and alternative Southern services will run between London Bridge, Norwood Junction and East Croydon.
Alternative Southern and Thameslink services will run via Redhill, and where possible, trains from Peterborough towards Horsham will stop at Earlswood and Salfords.
You can also use your ticket at no extra cost on London Buses between the Croydon area, Purley, Coulsdon South, Merstham and Redhill, and Great Western Railway services between Redhill and Gatwick Airport.

- Delays between Southampton Central and Fareham expected until 15:00
A fault with the signalling system between Southampton Central Fareham means that trains will have to run at reduced speed on the line towards Brighton.
As a result, services between these stations may be delayed by up to 15 minutes. Disruption is expected until 15:00.
Customer advice for Southern:
Trains will be delayed by around 10-15 minutes when travelling from Southampton Central towards Fareham and Brighton, as there is a further fault with the signalling equipment in the Hamble area.
This affects Southern services, as well as South Western Railway and Great Western Railway.
Please leave some extra time for your journey, especially if you need to make connections with other train services.

- Residual disruption between Warminster and Romsey expected until 14:00
Trains are returning to normal following disruption caused by an earlier signalling problem between Warminster and Romsey. However, whilst services recover, some trains running through these stations may continue to be cancelled.

- Lines reopened: disruption between Scunthorpe and Doncaster expected until 14:15
Following a fault on a train in the Crowle area, lines have reopened. trains running between Scunthorpe and Doncaster may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes, or revised.
Disruption is expected until 14:15.

Engineers are working to fix the fault and further updates will follow. In the meantime, the line running from Scunthorpe towards Doncaster is currently blocked.

- Lines reopened: major disruption between Basingstoke and Eastleigh / Southampton Central expected until 19:00
Lines have reopened following a fire on a broken down train between Basingstoke and Eastleigh / Southampton Central.
As services recover, trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed up to 60 minutes or revised. Major disruption is expected until 19:00.

Rail replacement buses are in operation between Basingstoke to Southampton Central in both directions, these are expected to be in place from approximately 13:00 at Southampton Central.
Because your journey has been heavily disrupted, you can book your own taxi and claim the cost back through the South Western Railway website. This applies to travel between any stations served by South Western Railway between Basingstoke and Southampton Central. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:

- Delays at Prestatyn expected until 14:30
A trespass incident at Prestatyn means that lines are disrupted.
As a result, trains through this station may be delayed by up to 45 minutes.

- Buses replace trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven until further notice
During pre-planned engineering work at Bransty Tunnel, between Corkickle and Whitehaven, inspections revealed unstable ground conditions which require urgent repair. As a result, the line through the tunnel is closed. Buses are replacing trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven with disruption expected until further notice.

Service impact
Train services are running between Lancaster / Barrow-in-Furness and Corkickle, and also between Whitehaven and Carlisle.
Buses will replace trains between Corkickle and Whitehaven.
Please speak to station staff, see online journey planners or consult customer information screens for departure times of these buses. Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
Ticket acceptance
If the train you have a ticket for is cancelled, you can travel on any Northern or TransPennine Express service within two hours before or after your cancelled service was due to depart. This is at no extra cost, and does not require you to amend your ticket.
Additional information:
At the end of July, Network Rail carried out assessments and surveys inside Bransty Tunnel ahead of planned full track and drainage renewal that was scheduled to take place during August and September. This involved doing surveys to assess any weight limits for the heavy machinery needed for the planned renewals. These surveys uncovered some areas under the railway which need strengthening before any work can progress. After assessing the initial survey data by specialist expert engineers, Network Rail has closed Bransty Tunnel to all trains until further notice. The exact time frame for how long these repairs and subsequent track improvements will take is still being worked on.

- No East Midlands Railway service from Bamford station towards Liverpool Lime Street from Monday 9 February to Wednesday 22 April
Engineering work is taking place at Bamford station, closing some lines.
Monday 09 February to Wednesday 22 April
Due to works being carried out at Bamford station, East Midlands Railway Liverpool Lime Street bound services will not call at this station.
If you are wishing to travel from Bamford on the 06:41 Bamford to Liverpool Lime Street service, earlier road transport will be provided (by Northern) to connect with the 06:38 departure from Hathersage. Customers can also travel to Hope to connect with the 06.46 departure.
The following exceptions will apply:
Saturday 14 February, the departure time from Hathersage will be 06:41 and 06:49 from Hope.
Saturday 21 February, the departure time from Hathersage will be 06:41 and 06:49 from Hope.
Saturday 07 March, Saturday 14 March, there is no service between Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street.
Tuesday 17 March to Friday 20 March 2026 the departure time from Hathersage will be 06:49 and 06:56 from Hope.

Engineering work is taking place between Edinburgh and Inverness on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from Saturday 21 February to Friday 23 October, closing some lines.
LNER:
No trains will run via Stirling.
Services to / from Inverness will be diverted via Ladybank.
A rail replacement service will operate between Stirling and Perth, calling at Gleneagles.
ScotRail:
It is not yet known how ScotRail are affected by these works.

- Amended late night / early morning East Midlands Railway services to / from London St Pancras International from Monday 23 to Friday 27 March
Engineering work is taking place at various locations on the East Midlands Railway network, closing some lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.
As a result:
Monday to Thursday:
The 22:32 London St Pancras International to Sheffield service will depart Loughborough later than usual at 23:54 and run up to 10 minutes earlier than usual to Sheffield.
The 22:35 London St Pancras International to Nottingham service will depart Leicester earlier than usual at 23:46, and run up to 7 minutes earlier than usual to East Midlands Parkway. It will not call at Beeston or Nottingham, and will be diverted to terminate at Derby. A replacement bus will run from East Midlands Parkway to Beeston and Nottingham.
The 23:04 London St Pancras International to Derby service will start earlier than usual from London St Pancras International at 23:02. It will depart Leicester earlier than usual at 01:14, and run up to 10 minutes earlier than usual to Derby.
The 23:35 London St Pancras International to Nottingham service will depart London St Pancras International earlier than usual at 23:33. It will depart Leicester later than usual at 01:48, and run up to 19 minutes later than usual to East Midlands Parkway. It will not call at Beeston or Nottingham, and will be diverted to terminate at Derby. A replacement bus will run from East Midlands Parkway to Beeston and Nottingham.
Tuesday to Friday:
The 04:14 Derby to London St Pancras International will depart from Derby earlier than usual at 04:06, and run up to 9 minutes earlier than usual to Leicester. It will depart Kettering earlier than usual at 05:35.

Engineering work is taking place overnight between Deansgate / Manchester Victoria and Newton-le-Willow, closing some lines.
Monday to Thursday
The 22:44 Wilmslow to Liverpool Lime Street service will terminate at Manchester Piccadilly. A bus will be provided from Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool Lime Street.
The 23:00 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Airport service will terminate at Newton-le-Willows. A bus will be provided from Newton-le-Willows to Manchester Airport.
The 23:30 Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Victoria service will be bus replaced throughout.
Tuesday to Friday
The 05:30 Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime Street service will not run. A bus will be provided from Newton-le-Willows to Wigan North Western, from where onward train services are available. Customers from Manchester should use alternative train services.

To allow maintenance and inspection work to take place in daylight, trains between Paddock Wood and Strood will run hourly between 09:10 until 15:00 each day.

Engineering work is taking place overnight at various locations on the Southeastern network, closing some lines.
Monday only:
From 22:45 until the end of service, accessible buses replace trains between Tonbridge and Wadhurst / Hastings.
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday:
The 23:20 and 23:50 London St Pancras International to Faversham services will be replaced by accessible buses between Ebbsfleet International, Gillingham and Faversham calling at all stations except Higham, Newington and Teynham.
The 22:10 London Victoria to Dover Priory will run nonstop between Faversham and Dover Priory. Accessible buses will run between:
- Faversham and Canterbury East nonstop
- Canterbury East and Dover Priory calling at all stations

- Battle and Crowhurst (mini bus shuttle)*

From 23:45 until the end of service services between Bromley North and Grove Park will not run. You will be able to use London Buses routes 126 and 261 at no extra cost between Bromley North and Grove Park.
Tuesday to Friday
The 00:28 London Victoria to Orpington service via Beckenham Junction will be diverted calling additionally at Denmark Hill and run non stop between Denmark Hill and Shortlands. An Accessible replacement bus will run between Denmark Hill and Orpington via Beckenham Junction calling at all stations except Brixton. If you are travelling to or from Brixton you can use London Underground between Victoria and Brixton at no extra cost.
Wednesday to Friday
From 01:15 until the end of service, accessible buses replace trains between Slade Green and Dartford.
The 00:30 London Cannon Street (Wednesday) / 00:25 London Charing Cross (Thursday and Friday) to Dartford via Bexleyheath trains will be diverted after Barnhurst to Slade Green. An Accessible bus will run between Slade Green and Dartford.

- The 06:18 Yeovil Pen Mill to Filton Abbey Wood will start from Castle Cary at 06:49. For travel from Yeovil Pen Mill, you should travel by later services

- Victoria line or Weaver Line to Walthamstow Central for Walthamstow Queens Road and local bus 97 to Leyton Midland Road
- Central line to Leytonstone for Leytonstone High Road
- Elizabeth line to Forest Gate for Wanstead Park and local bus 330 and 25 / 86/ 425 to Woodgrange Park
- District or Hammersmith & City line to Barking
- Local buses EL1, EL2, EL3 to complete their journey between Barking and Barking Riverside
If you are using contactless payment / Oyster card, you can also use the above alternative travel options but you will be required to pay the normal tap in / tap out fares for your journey.

Engineering work is taking place between Cosham and Portsmouth Harbour, closing various lines.
As a result:
- The 19:28 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour service will terminate at Fareham. You can use alternative rail connections from Fareham towards Portsmouth Harbour at no extra cost
- The 20:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour service will terminate at Westbury. For travel beyond Westbury, you should instead use earlier train services
- The 21:21 Bristol Parkway to Portsmouth & Southsea service will call additionally on request at Dilton Marsh
