Following a trespass incident between Thorpe-le-Soken and Walton-on-the-Naze all lines have reopened. As service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 13:00.

Customer advice

The 09:56 Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze service terminated at Kirby Cross due to a trespasser on the line earlier.

For safety reasons Greater Anglia could not run trains between Kirby Cross and Walton-on-the-Naze until the person had been identified.

Network Rail staff and BTP have the trespasser in their custody and all lines have reopened.

However, due to the disruption caused, some services may still be subject to cancellations, alterations or delays at short notice.

The route affected is Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze.

Train services will be cancelled, altered or delayed at short notice.

Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.
