Engineering work is taking place between Lockerbie and Motherwell / Kirknewton closing all lines.

Avanti West Coast

As a result of this engineering work and the engineering work in the Leyland area, there will be no Avanti West Coast trains between Wigan North Western and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh via Lockerbie.

Replacement buses will run between Wigan North Western and Preston and between Carlisle and Glasgow Central.

Customers should use TransPennine Express trains between Preston and Carlisle and replacement buses between Carlisle and Edinburgh..

A very limited number of trains will run between Carlisle and Glasgow Central via Dumfries on Saturday and Monday.

TransPennine Express

Buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh but will not call at Haymarket, extending journey times by approximately 90 minutes. Customers should change at Edinburgh for ScotRail trains between Edinburgh and Haymarket.

Customers should use Avanti West Coast replacement buses between Carlisle and Glasgow Central, extending journey times by approximately 60 minutes, customers travelling to Motherwell should travel via Glasgow Central using local ScotRail services.

18:47 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport will start at Preston.

07:10 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport will run as scheduled.

Tuesday

04:22 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport will start at Carlisle.

06:13 Edinburgh Waverley to Manchester Airport will start from Carlisle.
