Major engineering work will be taking place during the Early May bank holiday period, from Saturday 1 May to Monday 3 May. Network Rail carry out essential improvement and engineering work across the rail network during this time as far fewer people usually travel by train.

To travel with confidence, please follow the latest government coronavirus guidance and the measures set out when travelling by train.

As well as the ongoing major work at London Kings Cross, the following major engineering and improvement projects will be undertaken during the Early May weekend:

London Euston - Milton Keynes Central: No trains will be able to run on the West Coast Main Line to or from London Euston. This is due to HS2 works near London Euston, maintenance work in the Wembley and Watford areas, and Bletchley Flyover rebuilding work.

London Liverpool Street - Shenfield: No trains will run between these stations, alternative routes and transport will be available. Work is taking place to improve the reliability of the lines, and on preparing for the introduction of Crossrail services.

London St Pancras International: A reduced timetable will operate. Work is taking place to create space for the new Brent Cross West station.

London Victoria: No Southern services will run to or from London Victoria. Work is taking place to improve signalling and upgrade the track.

There will also be improvement projects at numerous other locations. You can find details of all the engineering work that is taking place here.
