Trains are returning to normal between Doncaster / Sheffield and Leeds following a fire next to the track between Wakefield Westgate and Outwood. Journeys running between these stations may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised whilst service recovers.

Disruption is expected until 15:45.

Northern customer advice:

You may use your ticket on the following alternate operators:

  • CrossCountry via any reasonable route
  • LNER between Doncaster and York
  • TransPennine Express between Leeds and York

Ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption.

Additional information:

The power to the overhead electric wires was switched off whilst the emergency services attended to an incident where a tree had caught fire near the railway.

The fire brigade has extinguished the fire and all lines are now open for trains to begin running again.
