Industrial action has been announced on the following days:
- Friday 12 May (ASLEF Union)
- Saturday 13 May (RMT Union)
- Wednesday 31 May (ASLEF Union)
- Saturday 3 June (ASLEF Union)
Due to strike action by ASLEF, the train drivers union, there will be NO Southern, Gatwick Express, Thameslink or Great Northern services running on Friday 12 May, Wednesday 31 May or Saturday 3 June.
On Saturday 13 May, due to strike action by the RMT union, services will be limited across the Southern, Gatwick Express, Thameslink and Great Northern network, with services starting later and finishing earlier than normal. Some stations will have no service for the whole day.
Due to a ban on overtime by the ASLEF union, an amended timetable with fewer services will run between Monday 15 and Friday 19 May, Saturday 20 May and on Thursday 1 June. The amended timetable is to provide greater certainty for customers on train times with fewer short notice alterations. Services are likely to be busier than usual and you may need to queue, so we recommend you allow extra time. If you have flexibility on your travel plans, services are normally much quieter on Mondays and Fridays.
On all dates where train services are available during this period of industrial action, we recommend that you plan your journey carefully at National Rail, expect longer waiting times and busier trains,
